Will Small Businesses make it through the Recession?

Small Business

With business after business closing their doors, citizens want to know who will be left standing at the end of the recession?  The majority of small business owners have downsized just to stay afloat and applied all profits to their monthly bills.  Information such as this has caused the government to step in and try to assist small business owners.  The government has regulated health cost across the nation, which will help reduce the costs of health insurance by 25%.

After the board had approved the healthcare costs, carriers were advised that healthcare costs would be lowered dramatically.  This will become effective September 1, 2010 and because of the massive influx of people involved, the carriers are going to set up tiers. Therefore, everyone will not receive lower health insurance immediately.  What this means for small business owners is an astronomical reduction in layoffs.  Unpretentious companies will be able to contribute 25% instead of the previous required 50% contribution on all healthcare costs.

The government believes that by lowering healthcare, more businesses will be able to sustain employees and hire on additional workers when needed.  This will hopefully minimize the number of people collecting unemployment.  Once unemployment is reduced, the government will be able to exert their time and energy into helping small businesses with unbeknownst problems.

By the end of the year, we should see a turn around on the amount of small businesses going under.  Even though we are in a recession, the United States needs to pull together to save our businesses that count the most.  Our Mom and Pop stores are a huge part the working industry and have been around for centuries.  Micro-businesses have to ensure that they have enough capital in the company to proceed with any chance at a profit margin, but smaller corporations are barely breaking even.

As long as new procedures are put into place, our small business owners have a chance at keeping their operation open.
