Weight Loss Hypnosis – Does it Work?

Weight Loss

Are you at an end with your weight loss efforts? Do you feel like you’re fighting a never ending battle? Maybe you are currently considering weight loss hypnosis? There is a preconceived notion that you can be reprogrammed like a machine to change habits by utilizing hypnotherapy, repetition and mental images. I personally am a realist and don’t believe in such things.

However, I do believe you can alter bad habits by changing the way you think and by practicing good habits. Many studies have indicated that it takes a period of 21 days or greater before something becomes a routine. Remember there are both good and bad habits, so don’t think of the word habit as a terrible thing. You must get through mental blocks before you will achieve desired results or any results, for that matter.

For example, I use to be addicted to soda, or at least I thought I was. I finally made the commitment to remove soda from my diet indefinitely. I have to admit it was difficult at first to request “high quality H2O” when we went out to dinner. After a month or so, it felt natural and my body felt properly hydrated. I have since made a pledge to drink eight glasses of water or more a day, my body now feels refreshed. Before I get off track, we all should or should have removed bad habits from our diet or lifestyle, so don’t be discouraged, just do it!

Getting back to hypnosis and weight loss, over the years there have been studies and the majority show positive but modest results. According to studies most people lose an average of 6lbs. Please consider participants were consuming what researchers requested them to eat daily. Therefore, it’s hard to determine if the hypnosis actually helped. Just from my research via the internet, there are many trying to jump in and make a buckselling weight loss hypnosis books, disc, etc.… Some that I have researched definitely have me questioning their motives, so I am not going to discourage you from trying it, but give a word of caution.

Some may need the extra motivation and feel this is the only way. In my opinion, I think a good weight loss buddy would help better than weight loss hypnosis. Have you personally tried weight loss hypnosis? If so please share your thoughts in the comment section below.
