Spiedi (Spencer and Heidi) Split For Good

With speculation brewing of “The Hills” celebrity couple splitting, the truth is clear and rumors have been set to rest.  Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have called it quits for substantial reasons.  From beginning a relationship in the summer of 2006 to Spencer Pratt, to losing longtime best friend, Lauren Conrad because of her relationship with Pratt, Heidi has hit rock bottom.  Between getting over 10 plastic surgery operations in one day to ostracizing herself from her family, Heidi changed for the worst. The reality TV star is walking away from fame and superficial life with Spencer. 

Montag filed for legal separation six weeks ago at the Santa Monica Superior Courthouse, citing the normal reply “irreconcilable differences.”  Estranged from her family and friends, Heidi must feel alone and hopeless.  Realizing the relationship would not work, Heidi has decided to file for divorce only after a year of marriage.  Critics did not believe the relationship would actually last and expected the marriage was staged by MTV.  Unfortunately, money played a huge part of it, and they were doomed from the start.  

Pratt stated, “I love Heidi but our marriage was a show – it was part of The Hills world. “And that world is on a sound stage.”  Always in the limelight, he has never been afraid of hurting anyone no matter what the costs were.  He also stated in another statement, “It’s clear that reality TV-fame-loving Spencer Pratt does not fit with my ex-wife Heidi Montag’s ambitions for a motion picture actor/pop star career and being a single sex symbol for the world.”

Spencer is asking for spousal support from Heidi, but Montag has already asked the court to terminate the right for spousal support.  Since the news hit Facebook and twitter, Spencer has done whatever, he feels necessary to make sure his side is heard.  Another selfless statement was made from Pratt, “Some say if you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen, Well, Heidi couldn’t handle King Spencer’s fame, so she got out of the marriage.”

There has not been much information provided from Heidi, but her attorney, Jodeane Farrellgave a statement to People, “The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner in and out of court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other and over the possibility of finalizing their divorce.”  So, I ask again was money the primary reason behind the public marriage to begin with or as this just another publicity stunt to make the couple famous?
