Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky finds love with Rico Suave, Roberto Martinez on the show’s finale Monday night on ABC. In the last episode, Ali made some rules of her own when she let go of the second finalist, Chris before the actual final rose ceremony, leaving only Roberto to get down on one knee and ask for her hand in marriage. During the last 30 minutes of the show, The Bachelor’s editing department showed Roberto acting, as if he was unsure about proposing to Ali. However, as Roberto made his way through the sandy path, you could see that by the expression on Fedotowsky’s face, there was going to be an engagement.
Roberto expressed the importance of proposing only once in his life. His values for life far exceed any regret that Ali may have had before she decided to choose him to spend the rest of their lives together. She may have had doubts about his sincerity on the show, but maybe that was her way of making the viewers, believe that she would pick him in the end. Besides the twists throughout the season, there were critics stating that Ali would not choose anyone, so this must have been a definite shock to the readers who searched for spoiler information weeks prior to the season finale.
Personally, I felt Martinez was the better fit for her and wanted Ali to pick him. From the moment their eyes met, she had the urgency for his presence, and you could tell that she wanted to be with him. My choices were Roberto or Frank, but Frank blew that one. His antics really showed his true colors. I would like to believe that he had loved both women, but have a feeling that this is not the case. As Ali said on “After the Final Rose” he never let his feelings go for the other women before he went on the show, so he did not give his all, and she is happy about the way things ended. She knows she made the right decision, and nothing would ever change that at this point.
Frank called at the last moment to say that he was not going to be attending the show and probably did not want to be confronted by Ali for what happen on the show. Fedotowsky said she wanted to tell him that she forgave him, and she was happy for him, but was honestly happier for herself. She really did not get the closure that she was looking for. Since the final episode, the happy engaged couple has been making media the rounds. They were seen live on Monday night with Jimmy Kimmel expressing their love for one another and telling him about their future plans.
The couple plans to wed either in the Spring or Summer of 2011. They can’t wait to get married and are actually going to be moving in together very soon, which was announced on ABC’s After the Final Rose. Roberto has already moved his belongings to San Diego where she will be joining him as soon as the media demands slow down. The couple is expecting to have a huge wedding, maybe around 700 guests. When asked if the couple was going to invite the Obama family to their nuptials, Fedotowsky replied, “Absolutely, if they’ll come.”
Since the “Bachelorette” is over, Ali has decided to sign up with an agency. Even though she is out of a job, she wants to know all her options and needs the agency to be in the best interest for her. She knows that opportunities come with the show, but is not going to have an acting career, but wouldn’t mind her fiancé taking a role in a movie anytime soon. It is rumored that Ali wants Roberto to act in Sex and the City 3. However, you never know what the truth is any more, too many false statements are made by the media every day. The couple just wants to live a normal life and do normal things. They appreciate one another and the little things seem to mean the most to them, like holding hands or going to see a movie. They don’t need over the top dates, like what they were use to believe it or not.
And when it comes to getting married on TV, the couple has already admitted that they are open to the idea of displaying that intimate moment for millions to watch. They would rather spend their savings on other things they put all their money towards the cost of a wedding, so ABC maybe paying them to say their I Do’s. Besides the possibility of a televised ceremony, the show has brought great attention to Ali’s life. She has been able to be more involved with charities and this has been something that she has wanted to do for a long time. She knows that she had truly been blessed and thanks everyone for all the support that has given her throughout the show.
