Chef Gordon Ramsay Gets Lucrative TV Deal

Television

Known for his extraordinary cooking abilities, Gordon Ramsay takes on reality television in a whole new way as head chef and restaurateur. Each television series portrays Gordon as an insensitive head chef as he explores all food possibilities with contestants and other restaurant owners. Within these programs, you either learn to love him or hate him. Ramsay is quite the character for television.

Born in Scotland, Gordon often moved around for the majority of his early life, finally settling in Banbury of Oxfordshire. It is in that very little town whom he discovered his love and talent for food by attending North Oxfordshire Technical College and enrolling in the culinary program for Hotel Management. In hopes of one day running his own restaurant, Ramsay set out all over to experience different cuisines and a taste for extremely delicious food.

Through his life experiences, Ramsay joined ventures with his father and opened his own restaurant featuring an upscale menu. Soon after his restaurant gained popularity, he started opening restaurants all over the globe. From his first restaurant to several after, Gordon Ramsay became a worldwide name. He began branding himself and soon enough from much publicity landed television series. By 2004, Hell’s Kitchen aired and was an instant hit and was broadcasted in Europe and the United States.

Hell’s Kitchen which originally took place in England landed Ramsay a signed exclusive contract with an American network. After the show aired in the U.S., the audience was selecting their favorite team by the end of the night. Contestants are brought from all over and some have experience and others don’t. The contestants then are coached by Gordon in an over the top scene. Competing against other contestants, they fight for a chance to be named as a head chef of one of Gordon’s new restaurants.

I am going to be honest; I was never one to like cooking shows (It was always a little too boring). Stephanie, on the other hand, can sit down and watch them for hours. That is until she introduced me to Hell’s Kitchen. Gordon Ramsay and his hostile antics make the show intriguing. There is something about watching a five star chef whip up delicious food while yelling every obscene word and still getting the food cooked to perfection, ultimately choosing the top chef.

With all the Ramsay shows to choose from, I am sure you will find one that you like or end up watching. Gordon now has more up his sleeve and is going to be a part of All3Media. That’s right, All3Media announced Friday of a $60 million dollar deal to acquire U.K. Producer Optomen, which includes One Potato Two Potato the 50/50 joint production venture shared by Optomen and Ramsay. Gordon plans to expand his brand even more throughout the U.S. and the U.K. under All3Media. Chef Ramsay advised:

“I’m very happy to be joining All3Media and look forward to growing One Potato Two Potato in the U.K. and in America,” said Ramsay.

Ramsay, who is known for his reality cooking shows, expects to expand and become one of America’s and the United Kingdom’s most popular celebrity master chefs.
