We live in the “Land of the free” But yet there are still laws, “Kissing laws” that must be obeyed or else, one may be prosecuted. No, this isn’t breaking news, but something I found entertaining. The laws fall under what people call “Blue Laws”. Laws, which are designed to enforce religious beliefs, some argue the fact that Blue laws are against the U.S. Constitution.
Derived from our nation’s ancient puritanical background in the east, Blue Laws are held together by the religious leaders and are enforced in certain cities or states around the country. The word “blue law” was originally used around the early 1700’s by reverend, Samuel Peters. As a writer, Peters wrote about the Blue Laws and their effect they had on the people of his era. Blue laws were described as moral beliefs or laws written down on blue paper, but there is no evidence of the laws actually being produced or written on blue paper.
With all the turmoil and rising crime rates in America, what state law enforcement has time to implement laws to prevent you from kissing a certain way or in a certain area? This baffles me and makes me chuckle when I think about it! So I compiled a list of 9 most outrageous kissing laws effective today that could land you a ticket or even in jail if violated.
