This is extremely true for song writer and singer, Chris Brown. Brown assaulted ex, Rihanna over a year ago and faced very few charges after beating her at the time supposedly all over a cell phone. The incident happened on February 8, 2009 before a scheduled appearance at the Grammy Awards. In their rented Lambo for the night, the couple started in a heated argument because Chris had allegedly answered his phone with another female on the other end. The argument started to get violent, when Rihanna took her hand and slapped Brown according to police reports.

Next thing she knew, Rihanna was thrown out of the vehicle and suffering from severe bruising in the face. At the time, she was unaware of everything that had happened and unsure what she was going to do according to some of her friends, who sold the story to a celebrity newspaper. Within a few hours, Chris was arrested on making criminal threats. Soon after, photos were spread all over the internet which was originally in the custody of the Los Angeles police department. Once the photos leaked, Chris’s case became a sure thing according to his attorneys and they were right.

Brown admitted guilt and ended up with a lighter sentence than if it was any other ordinary person charged with the same crime. Chris received 5 years probation, but it was later reduced. Today, the judge was impressed with Brown’s cooperation making a comment that Chris was doing a “great job”. He will have to continue to complete his community service and provide his progress reports.
