Stress Toys for Work

So you’re at work and your boss is on you like “white on rice” to complete your work by a certain time, sitting there stressed, sometimes you just need a desk toy to make you smile or you just need a minute to gather your thoughts. I have found a few “stress toys” for work that may help you manage your work stress a little more effectively. At least they may bring a smile and sometimes that’s all we need right?

1.  Buckyballs – Looky here, you’re already smiling. Buckyballs is a compiled group of magnetic balls. The idea behind Buckyballs is to help relieve stress while creating a variety of different shapes and forms that just snap together. You can create sculptures, puzzles and patterns. The kit comes prepackaged with 216 magnetic balls ready for creativity. They also are equipped with a little carrying case so you can organize them appropriately at work.  Be careful, they are known to create attention creating addictive play gatherings from co-workers. ;)

2.  Stress Ball – One effective way to relieve tension and stress is to squeeze your anger and tension away with the ordinary but yet amazing stress ball. Nothing feels better than grabbing something and just squeezing it as hard as you possibly can, then relaxing your muscles afterwards. High stress environments should all include stress balls and should be a requirement.

3.  Chinese Exercise Balls AKA (Baoding Balls) – Baoding balls have been around for decades, the Chinese originally used them to keep their “QI” in check. By rotating the balls in your hands either clock wise or counter clock wise is said to relieve stress and high blood pressure. The movement of the balls is supposed to work the muscle while hitting pressure points within the hand. It is considered a form of acupuncture. The Baoding balls are very inexpensive and can be purchased in a variety of colors and sounds.

Sometimes it’s the small things that can help turn a day around. Don’t forget to include positive thought, even when you think there is nothing to be positive about. Just think, someone else is having a worse day and we should be so grateful to have a stressful job to go to. Do you have helpful at work stress remedies or desk toys you would like to share?
