American Chopper Debacle

Television

Ok, so I’m an avid viewer of the “American Choppers” reality show that airs on the newly scheduled Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET. I understand that drama sells in today’s market where the majority of television is twisted and drama induced but it’s disheartening to watch father and son grow so distance over petty things such as money and EGO! I don’t want to seem bias here but from what I have witnessed Paul Jr. has handled the situation much more appropriately and with class. Paul senior on the other hand is surely losing clientele and making himself look like a complete ass while doing so.

I’m sure both are stubborn as mules but to go to the extent of suing your own son, seems ridiculous and malice to say the least. If you follow the show, you will see that Paul senior is portraying that his company “Orange County Choppers” is on the verge of bankruptcy. I’m not sure if this is strategically setup to benefit him in his ongoing lawsuit or to gain sympathy through the show and community. Is it me or do all reality shows tear into people’s lives leaving nothing but havoc and destruction within its path. It’s alarming to see how many people will subject themselves to these reality shows for a little fame and fortune, when in the end they are only left with turmoil and an empty bottle.

What’s your view on how the Discovery network is manipulating this ticking time bomb, so they reap the financial benefits? I know what you’re thinking…Paul senior and Jr. have a choice to step away if they want but it’s sick to think some mega company is stirring the pot and eventually things are going to implode. In the mist of this debacle, I would like to see them both make a mends and learn how to speak to one another like civilized human beings.

If they aren’t careful they are all going to end up like Mikey scribbling on walls with color markers, ok….ok, maybe that was a low blow but lord knows Mikey is a weird one. However the show wouldn’t be the same without him. Care to share your thoughts? Has their actions made you want to tune in more than before?
